What makes Transgenerational Psychotherapy distinctive is the way it allows us to look across the generations of our family for significant life events and relational patterns. Simply put, it's placing our personal life experiences within the context of our larger family histories. Since one generation's reactions to a traumatic event were passed on to the next generation, by broadening our lens from the personal to the multi generational context we can experience ourselves as part of a bigger story.
